Blue Ridge Parkway Sunset Elopement | Veronica & Curtis
Veronica and Curtis married in a Blue Ridge Parkway sunset elopement in front of their 11 closest family members and friends up in the mountains.
We started the day at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville. Veronica and Curtis each got ready in their own room with their families, then shared a sweet first look in the incredible atrium of the hotel.
We drove to the ceremony spot on Blue Ridge Parkway. There we met the officiant before the sunset, and had the entire overlook to ourselves. Veronica and Curtis shared personal vows, las arras (a Latin American wedding tradition in which the groom presents the bride with 13 coins and signifies prosperity), and happy tears.
After the ceremony, we took family photos, then let everyone go on ahead to the reception while we stayed for a few portraits. We took in the ceremony spot as the sun was setting, then drove to a second overlook for a few more portraits. A storm was rolling in fast, so we hopped in our cars just minutes before the downpour reached us.
We drove back to Charlottesville to Tavola for the reception. The restaurant decorated their private back room beautifully for the party. We got appetizers and drinks, then cut the cake.
Congratulations to Veronica and Curtis for creating a wedding day so special and memorable! The best of luck to you and your new life in Virginia!
