I love when I get to photograph multiple people in a family! Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing Libby’s JMU graduation portraits. This time around I got to photograph her step-sister Amy’s high school senior portraits!

We decided to go to Boar’s Head Resort, which was even cooler in person, even in the middle of winter. I met Amy and her step-mother Cindy (who was also at Libby’s session!) on the grounds for Amy’s senior session, and wow was it awesome!

Amy’s step-mother was married on the grounds of Boar’s Head Resort and pointed out all the special locations as we walked around the resort. We started near the main building and walked around back to where they had their outdoor reception. The three of us walked around one of the little lakes and warmed Amy up to the camera.

We walked and talked around the first lake, stopping to take pictures when the light was beautiful and the location was perfect. We stopped at a few bridges, a few patches of tall grass, and a few lakes. My favorite location was at a stone wall overlooking one of the larger lakes. Amy was practically a model by that point!

We ended near the main building of the lodge, where it looked like we were in Europe. We took some last photos next to one of the lodge’s barn-looking buildings, and we kept talking until it was too dark and cold to stay out any longer!

It was an honor to be a part of both of these girls’ senior sessions. Amy, I wish you luck in the geology field, and congratulations on graduating!
