Cyrus Ridge Farm Wedding Inspiration
We were surrounded by the mountains at a new venue, Cyrus Ridge Farm, and I couldn’t be happier. Fluffy cows grazed just beyond the fence, colorful rugs lined the grass, and textured flowers adorned tables and barrels. A vow renewal at sunset and a canoe ride in a glittering pond rounded out this evening into one of the most beautiful I have ever gotten to photograph.
I don’t normally sign up to photograph styled shoots because I prefer simple setups. It’s fun and exciting to work with a whole team on wedding days, but I’ll always prefer a couple with a beautiful view and a few items of personal touch.
However, I was so excited to visit this new venue and finally photograph my friend Anita’s rentals in a wedding setting. The artistic freedom of styled shoots put on by others is a great experience because it allows me to break free from my own style and put on a creative lens. I loved seeing the details in the dress from Amanda’s Touch and playing with the flower arrangements I don’t normally see. I’ve also never been able to photograph donuts at a wedding, so this was fun to see (and eat!).
But without a doubt, the best part was witnessing the actual vow renewal. Hannah and Ryan were celebrating 7 years of marriage, and hearing their personal vows crafted after years of loving each other was an honor to witness. It brought us back to the reason why we love this job so much, why we work so hard every day. We live to preserve these memories and make them as beautiful as you remember them.
