James’ Skyline Drive sunset proposal to his girlfriend Brianna on top of this Blackrock Summit hike was perfect!

What an incredible day this was! My friend Ashley, from Ashley Eagleson Photographed, called me one day. She asked if I was able to associate shoot a proposal for her on Blackrock Summit. Of course, I said yes and I’m so glad I did.

I talked with James, and we planned to set up a picnic on top of Blackrock Summit for the proposal. He was flying from Texas to surprise Brianna and bring her to the top of the mountain for a sunset date night. I stopped by Target to gather the supplies, like their favorite champagne and flowers, before hiking up to the top to get the picnic set up.

James and Brianna ended up stuck in traffic and almost missed the sunset. I took advantage of this time and got some great photos of the picnic basket set up before the show began. They made it just in time and James introduced me as the caterer for their picnic before sitting down and enjoying their date.

Less than a minute later, James was on one knee and popped the big question! I captured the entire proposal on video in addition to some great photos. After the shock wore off, James introduced me as a caterer AND photographer. Brianna was so grateful for the incredible surprise. The sunset ended up being perfect and subtle for their engagement shoot and even matched their blue and green outfits and flowers.

We had time for portraits and were able to recreate some of their favorite photos together. They popped the champagne and showed off the new ring!

We all left the day with a great story and full of excitement. Congratulations to the happy couple, Brianna and James!
