Massanutten Mountain Proposal | Mike & Katherine
Mike and Katherine’s Massanutten mountain proposal reminds me of why I love my job. Mike emailed me a few weeks before their couple’s vacation and was so excited that he planned on proposing. They had a full weekend planned filled with horseback riding, hiking, vineyards, dinner plans, and enjoying each other’s company. He didn’t know the area super well, so he turned to me to find the perfect location for his proposal.
He said he wanted a beautiful mountain view where they could be surrounded by nature and feel like they were alone, but it wouldn’t be too far of a hike for them before their dinner reservation. Massanutten’s Storybook Trail fit all his requirements perfectly, so I took a day trip to go on the walk and figure out the perfect place for them to stand.
Weeks later, the day finally came! Mike and Katherine walked up the path about an hour after I got there. I pretended to be a tourist and take pictures of the view, then stood behind them to wait. These two were so calm and so happy to just enjoy the view together, to sit and be with each other. After a few minutes, Mike pulled the ring box out of his pocket and asked Katherine to be his wife!
She had absolutely no idea, and all three of us were beyond excited and happy. We were able to fit a few minutes of portraits in before these two left to celebrate. Just look at their smiles! It was such an incredible day, and these two deserve the happiest of lives together. Scroll to the end to see the ring – it’s one of the most beautiful I’ve ever had the pleasure to photograph!
Congratulations Mike and Katherine!!
