Shenandoah National Park Bridal Portraits | Sarandon & Daniel
I can’t even begin to tell you how much these photos mean to me. Yes they’re in one of my favorite places in the world, and yes they’re definitely some of my best work, but they mean so much to me because of the people in them. Sarandon has been one of my closest photographer friends for years and we’ve been through so much together. I’ve missed her greatly since she’s moved to Baltimore, but I still count her as one of my closest friends in the industry.
We’ve shot weddings together, gone to conferences together, taken countless photos of each other, road tripped together, and have been each other’s hype women. Having her by my side (even all the way in Baltimore) has been one of the greatest blessings of having my business. I was so happy to give her and her husband Daniel a chance to update their bridal portraits up in Big Meadows on Skyline Drive. These were taken waaay back in 2019, so this was pre-baby (which probably seems like a lifetime ago for these two hahaha).
Knowing us, of course things went wrong, but it was nothing we couldn’t handle/safety pin. As Sarandon was getting into her dress, the zipper BROKE and the dress couldn’t be fastened. Her dress had been handed down and meant a lot to her, so this wasn’t just a piece of pretty fabric we were dealing with here. Three panic attacks later, we pinned her dress together with extra pins from Daniel’s uniform and vowed to not shoot the back too closely without the veil. Scroll down to the bottom to see our handiwork.
As you can see from the photos, it all turned out fine and we got some images that all of us will cherish forever. Here’s to Sarandon and Daniel!
